Module 1: Getting Started (Beginner)

In Module 1, dork students will become dork dancers by practicing #dorkdancing alone within the privacy of their rooms. Practice makes perfect. In this module, students will show evidence of #dorkdancing indoors alone as evidence of completed practice.

The objective of the module is to habituate a practice that is good for mental health, incorporating #dorkdancing as a kind of mental health hygiene. Along with the dancing, students will gain tools and knowledge to help build & sustain positive, healthy habits.

Dork students will grow into dork dancers as they learn to incorporate #dorkdancing into their daily routine. Here, students learn to accept themselves and have fun letting loose, exploring how they can uniquely embrace their inner dork in front of that mirror.

Module 2: Inviting Others (Intermediate)

In Module 2, dork dancers will become social, inviting friends and/or family into the #dorkdancing process (either in person or online). Dancers will introduce this idea to others with the goal of sharing this practice. In this module, students will show evidence of dancing with at least one other person (together, live in person or online) as evidence of completed practice.

The objective is to socialize the habituation of #dorkdancing, while adding good company, energy, and fun to the practice. Dancing is more fun, and impactful, with friends.

Dork dancers will grow in numbers (duos, trios, or more) as they learn to let loose in front of familiar company—people they love & feel comfortable with—exploring how to share #dorkdancing.

Module 3: Going Public (Advanced)

In Module 3, dork dancers will go big, practicing #dorkdancing in the open public for others to see. Dancers will practice #dorkdancing in public to challenge personal fears & anxieties. In this module, students will show evidence of dancing outside in the open public!

The objective is to dance with fear & anxiety in a new, challenging and exciting way, learning what you are capable of achieving. You can dance alone, to directly challenge insecurities, or you can dance with friends, to invite playfulness and levity for additional comfort.

Dork dancers will become more visible as they learn to emerge from the comfort and privacy of their rooms into the open public, exploring how they might exchange judgement for self-acceptance.

Module 4: Leading Strangers (Expert)

In Module 4, dork dancers will lead others through the power of their example, introducing #dorkdancing as a mental health idea, practice, and campaign to build community and help others in their mental health journeys. In this module, dork dancers will dance (for at least one hour) outside with a public invitation for strangers to dance with them for mental health..

The objective is to do something good for community mental health, bringing people together while advocating for a cause. Here you will learn how you can lead and help people through the #dorkdancing for mental health journey. As an expert dork dancer, you will lead a community through a process of breaking free from fear, helping others let loose and inspiring radical self-acceptance.

Dork dancers will become true mental health advocates as they learn to host #dorkdancing space and grow from leading themselves to leading others too.

Module 5: Sustaining Impact (Dork Leader)

In Module 5, dork dancer experts will report #dorkdancing impact to demonstrate what they have personally learned and what they have inspired and created within their community. Students will write their Dork Dancing Mental Health Story, reflecting on the impact of #dorkdancing for mental health and sharing that story within their community, inspiring mental health openness.

Once the dork dancer expert has demonstrated impact, both individually and as a community, the dancer will be fully reimbursed $99 as our way of saying thanks, helping cover any #dorkdancing expenses incurred throughout the duration of the course (such as the purchase of speakers). We are beyond grateful that you are now leading a community.
